After four days of presentations, discussions and exchange among more than 800 attendees, the 15th IEA Heat Pump Conference came to an end. The closing session summarised the conference in numbers, acknowledged the people involved, presented the paper and pitch awards and the main takeaways from the policy forums, and announced where the 16th IEA Heat Pump Conference will take place in three years.
The conference in numbers
Thomas Fleckl, Chair of the National Organising Committee, opened the closing session by summarising the conference in numbers.

Acknowledgements
During the session the members of the Scientific Committee and of the International and National Organising Committees were acknowledged for their work in developing a programme spanning a wide range of applications, from buildings to industry and transport, from component to system level, and from novel technologies through to applications in the real world. The proceedings will be openly available three months after the conference.
The 16th IEA Heat Pump Conference in 2029
The closing session ended with the announcement of the location and host of the next IEA Heat Pump Conference. Benjamin Zühlsdorf of the Danish Technological Institute revealed that, by coincidence, the 2029 conference will be organised in the country of the winners of the Best Applied Research Paper Award, Denmark, much as in the Eurovision Song Contest that had taken place in Vienna earlier in May.
The 16th IEA Heat Pump Conference will take place in Copenhagen, in May or June 2029. The exact dates and place will be defined and communicated in due course.
