Heat Pump Centre (HPC)
The Heat Pump Centre (HPC) is the central information activity of the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme on Heat Pumping Technologies. The Centre HPC links people and organisations worldwide in support of heat pump technology and communicates through National Teams (NT) in the HPT TCP member countries.
The Heat Pump Centre (HPC) is the programme office and the international information, communication and dialogue platform of the Technology Collaboration Programme on Heat Pumping Technologies (HPT TCP) by IEA. The Centre (HPC) links people and organisations worldwide in support of heat pump technologies and communicates directly as well as through National Teams (NT) in the HPT TCP member countries.
The mission of HPT TCP is to accelerate the transformation to an efficient, renewable, clean and secure energy sector in our member countries and beyond by performing collaborative research, demonstration and data collection and enabling innovations and deployment within the area of heat pumping technologies.
The HPC’s role is to support and stimulate this collaboration as well as Communicate the results and impact from the RDD&D work, tailor the messages and the dialogue using selected channels to reach relevant target groups, including policy makers, energy and environmental agencies, investors, utilities, manufacturers, city and building planners, system designers, architects, industry associations, installers, researchers and end-users.
The HPT TCP covers the complete field of heat pump technologies. All applications in buildings, industry and also other sectors are addressed – both for heating and cooling, separately or combined, using vapour-compression or alternative technologies. This includes related heat pumping technologies in the fields of air conditioning, dehumidification and refrigeration.
Activities
The HPC’s work encompasses a broad spectrum of knowledge transfer and communication activities resulting in a wide range of useful publications, information services and dialogue platforms.
Organisation
The HPT TCP’s member countries fund the HPC which operates on a non-profit basis. Operating under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency (IEA), the HPC is an integral part of the IEA’s wider programme on energy technologies.
The HPC is at the centre of a global network of individuals who influence the application of heat pumping technologies. From a central office at RISE Research Institute of Sweden, the HPC communicates directly and via National Teams in the member countries of HPT TCP. Each National Team is made up of people and organisations representing the full spectrum of national heat pump activities.
