Performance indicators for energy efficient supermarket Buildings – 2-page summary

To provide insight in the energy efficiency of a supermarket, the energy intensity (kWh/m2), based on the total energy consumption, is the most suitable performance indicator. Both heating and cooling must be included since they are often coupled by using the supermarket refrigeration system as a heat pump. The results show that new or refurbished supermarkets generally is more energy efficient than others.
