International Heat Pump Status and Policy Review


This report assesses the worldwide heat pump situation with regard to markets, technological progress and policies. With the help of the International Institute of Refrigeration, the report reveals many new data from both member and non-member countries of the IEA Heat Pump Programme. The report looks at basic factors such as energy prices and climate, and plots the trend in heat pump performance. Data are presented on the number of installations of all types of heat pumps for buildings and industrial applications. Alongside this, research, development and demonstration projects in the field are listed, and international, national and utility policy measures affecting heat pumps are reviewed. Volume 1 discusses key information on 16 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece. Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the USA. Volume 2A provides detailed reviews of these countries in the form of National Position Papers (NPPs). Volume 2B compiles NPPs on eleven more countries: Bulgaria; China; Czech Republic; Israel; Republic of Korea; Mexico; New Zealand; Poland; Portugal; Slovakia; Turkey.
