Evaluating Interactions Between Refrigeration and Comfort Cooling in Supermarkets


ASHRAE has recently initiated a research project with the objective of providing a comprehensive assessment of the potential for energy savings in supermarkets by optimized design and operation of the combined HVAC and refrigeration
systems. Preliminary work has shown that significant variations of indoor humidity can occur in supermarkets,
which could be exploited to improve the performance of both refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
