From a survey of emerging concepts for low energy houses in the Netherlands, it
can be concluded that heat pumps are a cost effective and practicable solution for achieving the low energy and energy neutral ambitions suitable for large volume housing projects. These solutions are analyzed from a concept point of view, but also from the point of view of the design process and goal management. The use of monitoring to reduce the maintenance costs, improve user satisfaction, and further improvement of the low energy housing
concepts is discussed.
