TES Symposium 2027

Langelinie Pavillonen, Copenhagen, Denmark

This symposium addresses a clear and critical gap in the international research landscape. It creates a focused forum for a novel and emerging branch of the broader Thermal Energy Storage (TES) field: TES for industrial process heat in the temperature range of 100-1000+ °C.

Our primary objective is to build a bridge between the distinct but interconnected disciplines of materials research, system integration, and modelling activities.

The symposium’s mission is to accelerate the decarbonisation of industrial heat – one of the most challenging sectors to transition from fossil fuels. We will explore how Power-to-heat systems, coupled with TES, provide a key pillar for achieving energy independence, enabling grid flexibility, and supporting the large-scale integration of intermittent renewable energy sources.

By participating in this symposium, you will have the opportunity to network with global leaders. The symposium’s single-track format, extended breaks, and social dinner are designed to maximise discussion, interdisciplinary exchange, and the formation of new collaborations.

Furthermore, you get the opportunity to engage in a focused forum and contribute to defining a clearer international research agenda for Thermal Energy Storage in industrial applications and help raise the visibility of this high-impact climate mitigation technology.

We look forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen!
