Ab-Sorption Machines for Heating and Cooling in Future Energy Systems – Maastricht Workshop proceedings

Thermally activated systems are of major importance in the areas of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating with respect to energy savings and environmental protection. Annex 24 of the IEA Heat Pump Programme, "Ab-Sorption Machines for Heating and Cooling in Future Energy Systems", aims to examine the diverse factors that influence the market for absorption machines. This should result in the development of guidelines to encourage more application-oriented R&D. An important element of the work of Annex 24 is the organisation of workshops. These Proceedings report on the first of these workshops. They give a broad international overview of the situation in different countries by means of country reports, and of several applications by means of case-studies.
