Industrial Heat Pump Screening Program (Update released April 1997)
This screening program by the International Energy Agency (IEA) enables a quick scan of opportunities for heat pumps in an industrial process. The program was developed within Annex 21 : "Global Environmental Benefits of Industrial Heat Pumps". Based on the pinch analysis of the progress streams, the screening program suggests how to install a heat pump. The user can insert the process streams from scratch, or by editing one of the 144 predefined processes. A suitable heat pump can be chosen from over 50 predefined types. The program suggests a capacity for the heat pump and calculates the payback period and the annual cost of the selected application. The user can change the heat pump type and capacity to optimise the financial parameters.
