Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Reclamation Part 1

How effective are refrigerant policies, practices and national plans in industrialised countries and what are their environmental benefits? How do countries organise their refrigerant management programme and what are penalties if there is no compliance? Answers to these and other related questions are given in this report and it comes as no suprise that approaches with regard to policies, regulations and practices for accomplishing refrigerant conservation varies between countries. This report is Part 1 of a two-tier international state-of-the-art assessment. It covers the countries Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Netherlands, and the USA. Part 2 will cover additional industrialised countries, but is will also include refrigerant disposal. The report provides interesting information for policy makers in governments, regulatory organisations, business executives and their technical staff advisers.
