Hydrocarbons β and propane in particular β are set to become the standard refrigerant across several heat pump sectors in Europe. Because they are flammable, safety is always a concern with these fluids. In this webinar, we report on some of the work carried out in IEA HPT Project 64, Safety with Flammable Refrigerants.
We can’t cover everything in 90 minutes, but you’ll hear about several interesting aspects of the topic β and you’ll have the chance to put your questions directly to the speakers.
Presentations and speakers:
- Introduction to Project 64 on Safety with Flammable Refrigerants β BjΓΆrn Palm, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- Experimental Study of R-290 Leakage Behaviour β Jafar Esmaeelian, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- Austrian Survey on the Frequency, Location, and Detection of Leaks in Heat Pump and Cooling Systems up to 50 kW Nominal Capacity β Bernd Windholz, Austrian Institute of Technology
- Limits of a Modelling Approach for Refrigerant Charge Assessment in Residential Heat Pumps β MaΓ«lle Journay, EDF
- Interpolation Approaches to Improve the Exploitation of a Sparse Sensor Matrix in Indoor Release Experiments β Arpit Baranwal, Fraunhofer ISE
