Project 61 presented at the European Heat Pump Summit 2025

20 Oct 2025

Contributions to the Project 61 will be presented at the European Heat Pump Summit taking place at Messe Nürnberg on Oct. 28/29, 2025. Two presentations are foreseen:
Fabian Ochs of the UIBK University of Innsbruck Austria will present investigations and system comparison of different integration options for heat pumps in districts for entirely centralised integration to low temperature (“5th generation”) distribution grid with decentral heat pumps.
Carsten Wemhoener of OST in Switzerland will focus on the integration of heat sources at the example of
air-source and vertical ground probes, which are the most common heat sources in Switzerland. Both by simulation and monitoring it was proved that dual source heat pumps can have performance and economic benefit and can enable a monovalent heat pump operation also in situation with limitations on available heat source by the built environment, in particular in retrofit applications.
