DTI in terms of Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology is broadly involved in all fields related to heat pumps, including testing, research and development of new technologies, software development of digital tools, and management of research projects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container container--no-margin\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">DTI will contribute to Project 67 by leveraging its competencies in research, development, and digitalization. The focus areas of DTI and in particular Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology include coupling of physical test setups with digital tools, which will be valuable knowledge to apply in Project 67. DTI will utilize its experience from previous and ongoing projects such as Smart CO2 Heat Pump and Digital twins for large-scale heat pump and refrigeration systems, as well as European projects such as EEETHOS and SPIRIT, where digital twin-based services and model-based approaches are crucial for enhancing heat pump performance and reliability. As a participant, DTI will collect knowledge from industry in Denmark, provide technical contributions, manage tasks, and support international collaboration, enhancing Project 67 goals of advancing digital services and innovative technologies for heat pumps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container container--no-margin\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph \"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container container--no-margin\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph \"><strong>Technical University of Denmark, DTU<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container container--no-margin\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (DTU Construct) at DTU develops and utilizes science and technical knowledge for the benefit of society and sustainable development. DTU undertakes research, education, innovation, and scientific advice of the highest quality within building design and processes, building construction and safety, building energy and services, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, materials technology, manufacturing engineering, engineering design and thermal energy systems. DTU Construct hosts research in material characterization, material properties and its relation to structural performance. The department covers mechanical engineering as well as building design and structural engineering. Researchers in these departments have extensive experience with both theoretical and experimental approaches to material and structural research, spanning size scales from nanometers to meters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container container--no-margin\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph \">DTU will contribute with expertise on model based digital services for heat pumps and thermal energy systems in general. Furthermore, DTU will contribute with expertise from its Digital Heat Pump Laboratory, which will allow them to develop and test digital services in-house. The Digital Heat Pump Laboratory is designed to accommodate the connection of different heat pump units with a thermal output of up to 12 kW. It is equipped to run a range of tests, including hardware-in-the-loop or fault emulation. The digital infrastructure enables near real time, two-way communication via the energidata.dk\u2019s platform, providing a basis for developing and testing digital services. Furthermore, digital services will be covered in upcoming research projects, and DTU expects to contribute with experiences regarding services such as \u201ccirculating charge monitoring\u201d for heat pumps using refrigerant mixtures, optimal defrosting strategies for air-source, and optimal heat or cold storage utilization.
