We are glad to announce that the second edition of #DecarbCities Forum will take place on the 25th February 2020 in Vienna! A tour in the Simmering Station and a networking dinner for all participants will take place on the 24th of February, please save that date as well!
With rising youth’s claims and society’s debate on how to meet the challenge of fighting climate change and remaining in the earth resource limits, time comes to shape climate neutral cities.
#DecarbCities forum will focus on the basic need of heat and will seek to move the conversation from a supply/ sector/ centralized energy policy to a decentralized/ use/ demand planning. It will present technical and organizational solutions to cities, in particular when it comes to the replacement of existing fossil combustion technology with heating systems that use renewable energies and policies prioritizing the reduction of heat demand.
Key topics of this year’s conference include:
- National heat strategies
- Multi-level governance
- Energy communities and cities
- Best practices and initiatives to support cities
